Book Review: The Complete Personalized Promise Bible
A week ago I agreed to review some books from Harrison House, Inc. a Christian book publisher. I was sent a package of five books one of which was The Complete Personalized Promise Bible by James Riddle. I am not a scholar of the Bible, but I can tell you that this is not the complete Bible. Just opening the book to Matthew, the first entry is Matthew 4:1-11 KJV and the next entry is Matthew 4:4 Message and the next is Matthew 4:6 NKJV. This last entry Matthew 4:6 says
And the devil said to him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
The promise or Declaration of Faith is
The Angels of God are watching over me to keep me from all harm.
Then in the back of the book is a Topical Index and under THE MINISTRY ANGELS ON YOUR BEHALF IS Matthew 4:6 and at least 20 other places like Genesis 48:15,16.

This particular book is about meditations on the promises in the Bible.

Meditation is defined in the book as "to speak to one's self in a low tone of voice.".

If you want to be successful as Christians, we need to speak God's Word to ourselves day and night. James 3:2,4 tells us how powerful our words truly are. He tells us our tongue is the very rudder of our lives.
The author James Riddle goes on to say
When we begin to understand the awesome power in our words, we will not be so quick to speak. We see how the seed of our words will bring us the things of life or the things of death. If this is true of our own personal words, how much more powerful is it when we speak the Word of God into our lives?
Let me approach the validity of those words in a secular way based on a website I found today:
THE SECRET: THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS .
The law of attraction states that "like attracts like." If you "see" yourself living in abundance you will attract abundance. If you see yourself in a state of "want" you will attract what you don't have. It's like worry. If you constantly think about your fears, you attract those things you think about. I call it negative self-talk. Think back on conversations you've had with yourself and others.
"I'm not good at math."
"I can't draw."
"I'm not good at attracting men/women."
"I'm fat!"
"I'm not good at sports."

You still doubt? Riddle quotes

Psalm 138:2 God has placed His Word higher than His name.
Why do we pray say grace at meals??
1 Timothy 4:4,5 Our food is cleansed and sanctified through the Word.
What is the promise?
God watches over His Word and promises to perform it in our lives. Jeremiah1:12
Now that is a promise!
