Psalm 83?
Now this is a strange tale.

CNN reports an engineer in Dublin, Ireland was

digging up bogland last week to create commercial potting soil somewhere in Ireland's midlands when "just beyond the bucket of his bulldozer, he spotted something."
It was a book of Psalms and archeologists think it is from the time of 800 to 1000 AD. It is odd that it could have survived in the bog for that length of time and odd that it was unearthed and not destroyed. The real strange thing is that
the book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.
Jerry Jenkins along with Tim LaHaye and Joel Rosenberg spoke with CNN's Kyra Phillips about whether this is a signal of the "end times". Jenkins and LaHaye are co-authors of the left behind series of novels detailing the rapture. Joel Rosenberg is a geopolitical writer who has specialized in novels that interpret the prophesies as it relates to Israel and the Middle East. Rosenberg's latest novel is The Copper Scroll.

Mike, I had exactly the same thought when I saw the article in the Chicago Tribune - that "was this an omen?" The timing of this is pretty damn good.

I just saw an article saying that people are discussing this find all over the world.

But on the other hand, think about how little peace Israel has experienced since its re-establishment. It's really 50-50 odds.

I think it is amazing they found the books of Psalms! This is another way to prove the validity and authenticity of the Scriptures.

I am torn over what the fighting between Lebanon and Israel actually means. It mind be the end times, I don't know.

There is a discussion board at Christian Connect about this- http://www.ChristianConnect.com . Someone stated that over 400 people have died so far just in Lebanon, not to count the thousands of people that have died in Iraq. I don't think Christians should worry about whether this is the end times or not and just pray for healing.

The AP reporter made an assumption and now it's being passed around. The ancient book predates the King James Version that modern Bibles are based on. The National Museum of Irleland issued a statement that the readable part of the book is actually Psalm 84. People are jumping to conclusions to equate this to current events in Israel. See:
