Bush worked with Kennedy from the start of his first term and look what it has gotten him. And McCain with his partnering with the left has earned him hatred from the right. Finally, Bush turned against his base and suffered a major defeat.
We want, first, a secure border; second, we want the laws that are on the books enforced, and then we can give the illegals a way to gain citizenship.

There's a song by Meatloaf, "Two out of three aint bad"; that about sums up how I feel about this one statement. First, secure the border, second, enforce the laws that are already on the books and by doing that round up the illegals and send them packing along with their families to include the children born for free in our hospitals.
It is also unrealistic. This country will never do that. So why not settle for two out of three.
